Strange GENE-V offset problem

Hi I have been trying to use a negative offset for my 2700k overclock with no success.

LLC set to Ultra High gives around 1.58 under load. Knowing my chip needs less than 1.44v for 5ghz I input -.1 which immediately shows up in red in the BIOS. I can't boot into windows even with -.025 offset.

Sorry if this has been asked before but am I missing something? :s

if i were you i would try with a manual/fixed mode first and see the realtime load difference between VID (CoreTemp) and actual vcore (CPUz). once you find the difference between VID and Vcore just use offset, be it negative or +ve.

Manual voltages work fine providing I use ultra high LLC. Tested both 48 & 50x with the voltages mentioned earlier. I need to use a negative offset, but I can't boot into Windows, even with - 0.005v

😞 Something is wrong.

Did you check your CPU VID in the new board?? Adjust your OC under whatever manual/fixed vcore it works and let us see a screenshot of your Coretemp and CPUz with full load under Prime95 v27.7, side-by-side!! I've experienced this personally on my P8Z77 WS board.

i use a offset of 0.090 for 4.6 rock solid stable, do a factory reset then enter that offset, llc extreme cpuz shows 1.355 when 100%

I'd love to know how other SB users are getting on with the GENE-V.

Offset mode (-) is definitely broken for me. Seems others with SB are having the same issue.

It is hard to find feedback though since most have used IB in theirs.

Is this something ASUS are aware of, and is there any plan to fix it?

Could you be more specific about what your bios version is please.

1604 BIOS. The stock BIOS out of the box had the same issue.

I had hoped an update would help but no joy 😕

Please download 1408 or 1501 unpack to a fat formatted USB drive and do bios flash using the EZflash2 utility found in the tools menu of the bios.

Clear your cmos before you do the bios flash please.

Ok thanks. I'll try this when I get home from work this evening. I can't remember which BIOS the motherboard came with out of the box. I did have the same problem before updating though.

Tried the 1408 bios after a reset and it's still a no go. Same issue 😞

Make sure you did a clear CMOS after reflashing the BIOS.
