Strange GENE-V offset problem

Hi I have been trying to use a negative offset for my 2700k overclock with no success.

LLC set to Ultra High gives around 1.58 under load. Knowing my chip needs less than 1.44v for 5ghz I input -.1 which immediately shows up in red in the BIOS. I can't boot into windows even with -.025 offset.

Sorry if this has been asked before but am I missing something? :s

bugslunchbox(he he nice name.. Bear Grylls would love you! :D), see if this helps: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?28559-Offset-mode-OC-Multiple-issues..&p=218950#post218950.. I had a few issues on offset mode which got solved by tweaking a few things..

Cheers,

Yep, clearing CMOS and doing the settings again did the trick. I'm doing 4.2 Ghz @ 1.200V in full load now. I can't get the offset voltage lower becouse it crashes in idle. I'll try to see how high the CPU will go @ 1.2V. Thank you all for your help!

Great, glad to hear you got it sorted.

I wonder how HiViZMan is getting on with his testing

Seems strange if this issue applies only to specific SB cpu's.

Do you have anything to report back HiVizMan?

pretty cool that CMOS clear fixed it. wondering why it doesn't work like that for all ...

Just a note to say the new BIOS has done nothing for the problem I'm having. It's been weeks and weeks HiVizMan, do you have anything to report back yet?

Have almost given up on this.. no official answer or suggestions.

I thought one last bump wouldn't hurt though..

Sandy Bridge are nearly EOL, I highly doubt ASUS will put an effort to fix the issue if it persists at this point ...
