Southbridge temps

What kind of southbridge temps are users seeing with the chvfz/9590? My SB runs about 10C higher temps that any other reported temps. When stress testing, cpu, mb and vrms run as high as 40C+/-, the SB can get as high as 50C. The SB is the only chip not under water.

I think it may run a bit cooler when the side panel is installed. That directs fan air on the SB heat sink. I could install a heat sink/fan chip set cooler or even add a water block. Should I even be concerned about a 50C SB temp.

I just checked my SB with a IR Thermal Gun and it is reading around 32.2 C.

Just to make sure are you referring to the NB as I'm using Probe II from Asus and I don't have an option to read the SB; only the NB (which is running about 36 C). I only use air cooling.

HWInfo64 reports ROG T0 thru T3, 0 is cpu, 1 is SB, 2 is NB and 3 is board. HWInfo has great support for both AMD and ASUS products. It also integrates with my Aqua Suite software. The developer is active on several forums and always upgrading the software.

Now that I have some air flow around the board the SB temps are lower, a testament to the heatsink. My G Skill memory shipped with a memory cooler and when I saw memory temps climb to 40C I installed it. Not only cooled the sticks but dropped the SB temps with the added air flow. Another plus is added flow in the gpu passive back plate has lowered vrm temps. All that from a cheesy little memory cooler.

My SB is now around 36C, NB runs around 32C. DIMM's are picking up 4-6C under load, much better than 15+C is was seeing.

Goods news...was wondering what you were using for hardware monitoring; thanks!
