Hello guys,

joined the club and bought M7F, my exact rig signature here:
- Core i7-4790k running at stock 4.00 GHz
- Corsair 2x4GB DDR3 RAM LP CML8GX3M2A1600C9
- EVGA SuperNova 850 G2 Gold rated PSU
- Noctua NH-U12s CPU Cooler (with aftermarket black Noctua iPPC 2000RPM PWM fan)
- Samsung 850 Pro 256GB (OS Drive)

I did POST successfully but have one issue ...
My RAM is set to 1333MHz by default and when I tried to enable the XMP RAM profile (XMP Profile #1) it increased the VCore from 0.992 V to 1.280 V (!) which increased the CPU and VRM temperatures quite a bit. So how do I prevent increasing the voltage so much??? Or is it normal with Haswell?

This is the exact log what happened in the UEFI:

Normal for the mobo to increase voltage when using xmp but i find the auto setting are unacceptable especially on the 4790k. Try using a manual vcore or an offset. i am currently at 4.6 turbo with a fixed vcore of 1.50 using xmp 2133

Hello guys,

so I joined the club and bought M7F, my exact rig signature here:
- Core i7-4790k running at stock 4.00 GHz
- Corsair 2x4GB DDR3 RAM LP CML8GX3M2A1600C9
- EVGA SuperNova 850 G2 Gold rated PSU
- Noctua NH-U12s CPU Cooler (with iPPC 2000RPM PWM fan)

I am running display off the iGPU for now, no SSD connected yet, just testing in UEFI to see if everything works correctly.

So this is the basic build I have lying on the table and I did POST successfully. But I noticed 2 issues:
1) After running idle for about an hour, the motherboard (PCH) temperature seem very high to me, it is 42 deg C, and the VRM temperature is 46 C, my CPU idles at 38 C (fan spinning around 600RPM silently), which is OK I guess, for 0.992 VCore. The thing is, the components are lying on the table with no airflow and the ambient temperature is quite high around 26-28 C, still, i think the MOBO temperature and VRM temperature is a bit higher then I would expect ... (normally I would expect 30-35 C)
2) I tried to set the XMP RAM profile to XMP Profile #1, but this increased the VCore to 1,280 V (!) and it increased the CPU temperatures to 47 C Idle, so I discarded the changes and returned to default clocks 0.992 V VCore, and 1333 MHz RAM

Since then I only let it run to see if the temperatures would increase, but they didnt. I flashed the BIOS from 0501 to 2012 and went to sleep.

Gonna continue today, will put the components into a case with proper airflow (Enthoo Pro) and will connect the OS SSD (Samsung 850 Pro) and install Win 8.1 Pro.

Guys do you have similiar temperatures or is something wrong with my MOBO?

Someone else have an issues entering bios on the formula?
Sometimes the BIOS is frozen (everything is N\A). Latest BIOS.

No issues with the M7F bios'
The new 2304 bios is working flawlessly for me.

How can you be on 2304, my max bios on the ASUS site is 2012

Check the other listing for M7F, the one without watchdogs. Unfortunately asus doesnt keep both updated.
