The Asus engineers do an awesome job at optimizing the BIOS settings. For most users, moving the multiplier and voltage options is more than enough. For stability testing, I like to roll with ROG Realbench.

anyone go sub zero on the formula? if so, using eraser insulation, remove the plastic armor or just insulate over it?

I wanted to post here cause I'm having a small issue with AISUITE III & I'm hoping someone will take note of it and possibly try to duplicate the problem so that Asus might fix it in a future update, if anyone knows who to make aware please let me know?

I was having issues stabilizing a 49x oc so I decided to try per core and sure enough i was able to stabilize a 49x 49x 48x 48x oc but whenever I use these settings (UEFI overclocking) I get a crash error upon opening AI SUITE III and its rendered unusable until next boot. This only happens when I use per core overclocking in the UEFI.

ERROR CODE: Access violation at address 037EEADA in module 'dip4.dll. Read of address 00000631

Not sure if I would keep these settings anyway cause it doesnt seem to provide any benefit (higher scores in benchmarks) but I thought I would mention it anyway, Also it may just be my system but I have a feeling its AI SUITE III

what hapens with a lower overclock? I am not sure your issue is down to instability or a software bug unless you try.

Does anyone have a guide on changing RAM timings? I have the MFVII, a 4970K, and G.SKILL Trident X @2400. I was going to attempt to OC next week, and after I got something stable without the XMP profile enabled, I was going to enable the XMP, then try to tweak the RAM timings.

pictures too large to post directly.

cpu got to 5.5ghz but i had a bad pot mount so i had to stop there for the night.

more to come.

also - asus please fix the enable PLL overvoltage bug in bios

I have a query.

I have decided to go with the VII Formula and a custom cooling loop. Can anyone tell me whether you have to use 1/4 inch tubing or can you use any?
In other words, do 1/2 inch barbs fit?

You can use 1/2 inch barbs but the theading needs to be 1/4 inch, just make sure your tubings inside diameter is 1/2 inch.

You could use something like this.

What alternate sound card / AMP / DAC would you recommend to the Supreme FX, got to admit, I'm not impressed with the sound on the MF7 and the Sonic Studio software.

You have to do a lot of tweaking with Sonic Studio to get your sound perfect. Once I figured out the best configuration for my head set, I was impressed with Supreme FX.

To answer your question on a nice sound card though: I am quite fond of the Asus Xonar Phoebus on my mate's machine. I've also heard (lol) good things from the Creative Sound Blaster ZxR.
