Hi Folks,
is there any fix or Bios to boot from sm951 in PCE-Adapter?

I´m on Bios 1603 and installed Win8.1 in Uefi Mode , but no success with booting.
Are there any Workarounds for the SM951 on M6F?

Have tried modifying BIOs with no success so far. Praz I know ASUS doesn't support modding, but would you know of where to find a compliant driver? Looking through more recent BIOS files from ASUS doesn't reveal anything so far.

Laminate, what modification(s) did you make to your BIOS to try to boot the SM951? I'm working on a BIOS for my Maximus V Extreme Z77. Hopefully the OP will show back up.

I followed the procedure outlined here: http://www.win-raid.com/t746f34-Discussion-on-Samsung-SM-M-Card-1.html

Unfortunately that driver doesn't seem to work. I extracted it from the ASRock bios mentioned which clearly defines the samsung module.

I extracted it from an Asus Bios, cause the Asrock Module did not work 4 me.
Maybe the Modules were modded by Mobo Vendor. If you look into the module you see some Asrock related code ...

P.S.
I extracted it from the M VII Impact Bios.
I can upload it, if you like.

You can find it here:
SAMSUNG_M2_DXE.rar

Bios was send to everyone who left a mail adress.
Flash it with flashback via usb. Only suitable for Rampage VI Formula (R6F)
Also included Features (Intel oprom update, NVME Driver and latest Intel AHCI Driver)
Use it at your own risk, ist a non official mod bios ...

On my Rig it´s working like a charme.
So have fun with it.

SirOli

P.S. Here is a hint for modding
***Warning*** You can brick your board, due wrong modded Bios ***

Hi SirOli, glad you got back. For those of us without this motherboard could you please give more information where you got the driver from so that we could use the same technique on other bios?

Thanks for providing all the help Siroli, it is much appreciated.

Your samsung module looks to be the same I was trying before. I tried inserting it at volume 4 where it ends up just under Asus fastboot, close to yours in the image.

Still have the same winload efi error while attempting to boot, so wondering if anything more is needed.

I have also tried inserting Nvme, and would try updating AHCI but all the modules I have seen thus far are the same size and name, so I assume unchanged.

I have also been reinstalling the OS (latest W10 build) and changing related BIOs settings. Current error I get is: Your PC Need to be repaired. the application or operating system could not be loaded because a required file is missing or contains error. File: \Windows\System32\Winload.efi

Anyone who didn't see brief post on last page, I am trying to mod for the Hero not the Formula.

Do see the Samsung sm951 in Bios?
Can you choose it as Bootdrive?

If you mod was ok, the you will see the Samsung MZHPV256... as Bootdrive and can assign it as Boot Option.

When this suceeded you have to disable the csm module.
Assign it as Bootdrive.
Reboot.
Start from USB (Win install) Stick with UEFI Preambel.
Reinstall Win in UEFI Mode (with Repartition and reformat).
Enjoy booting SM951 ...

P.S.
missing or contains error. File: \Windows\System32\Winload.efi

This Message means that a non UEFI Bootloader (MBR) is searching for Winload.efi --> does not work

P.P.S.
It is not enough to find Drive during Windows Install, you have to find it in the UEFI-Firmware (Bios) to.
Otherwise it will not boot.

No mention of the drive there. I can only see it as a x4 device inserted into x16 pci-e slot.
