That one is simple...Less distance for the Signal to Travel= Less Ping... Ping is the 'Time to Travel Both Directions'. Glad you got yours fixed...but I'm still having the same problems and I've only got 4 feet of cable with Good ends and Good Wire, I tested it with both Resistance test and Frequency Loss Detection and both are with in Spec. I've even tried switching HD's to one with a Clean Fresh install of Windows 7.

Hey,
So iv had this issue since day 1. Now its sorta irritating.
MOBO doesn't detect an Ethernet cable for a good solid .. 3 minutes after boot. Have to wait. Try trouble shoot, 50/50 chance of it finding the cable. Otherwise wait 3 mins.
Cables a CAT 6 DIY from future shop. Works great on other comps/Xbox 360.
Attempts to solve:::
- Flashed Latest Bios on comp
-Re-Installed windows on SSD
-Tried using Mechanical drive with windows.
-All Windows updates done.
Currently installing 2012.01.09 Update driver
If Anyone can suggest anything else?
Thanks guys.
