SBe PCIe 2.0 issue - Future Upgrading to Pascal + 1440p 144hz Monitor

as we all know, Pascal is around the conner. And i'm thinking about upgrading this year. I'm still using 3930k (and yes i already tried the nvidia gen3 patch, but it didnt work with my 980).

The question is, will pcie 2.0 bottleneck GTX1070/1080 + 1440p 144hz monitor?

In most situations pcie 2.0 and pcie 3.0 are pretty close performance wise, it depends on the game how much pcie 3.0 pulls ahead.
