Sabertooth Z77 usb 2.0 stops working

Hey everyone, my first post here (LOVE your OC guides sry for offtopic :))
having a weird problem with usb 2.0 ports (yes 2.0) picture attached 17377
i have mouse (g9x) and keyboard (g510) and dlink Wireless pluged in it
every now and then ( 2-3 times a week) they just stop working, and my mouse keyboard start blinking ( like they are getting power then not) and they are not operational, hard to describe the problem. its mostly happends when am playing (happend in wow, sc2, tf2 and borderlands 2 ), i did search for this topic but didnt find anyone with the same problem.
i have Sabertooth z77 bios 1708 , i5 3.2ghz, 2x 4gb gskill 1866 ,.. its all brand new ( 3 weeks old )

tried to reinstall both USB controllers, downloaded new drivers, removed in device manager they reinstall alone, and still i get the problem, windows are newly installed and up-to-date

the weird thing is that they work normally if i restart the computer, and they are random sometimes when i start playing around 20 mins and sometimes after 10hours ( had thermal armor on to see if voltage or temperature is the problem but it looks stable)

thanks in advance 🙂
p.s. little offtopic, sorry for my bad grammar, English ( am trying my best to describe the problem)

Hi people,
Having the same problem here
Using Logitech G510 keyboard with either G9 or Razer Imperator mouses
Had no issues for almost a year and maybe a month and a half ago my rear USB 2.0 ports started flickering the hardware
Updated to latest BIOS and all drivers, but problem still exists
Had to reconnect everything to USB 3.0 rear ports and no problem so far, but this bothers me a lot
It sounds like there is a common issue here
Anyone found any official comments from Asus?
The PSU is 1000W OCZ Fatality

no more comments? thread just died?
:):)

hey fellas, i'm having a similar problem, and this thread is the only one that seemed to pop up in my searches related to the same issue.

i've not got specifically a sabertooth Z77, but i'm using a P8Z77-I Deluxe instead (which as far as i know, is almost the same mobo).

I've also got the issue of my keyboard lights blinking, now and then, as if it were just powering up after a power-loss, and as a result, any keys i had pressed down, get stuck (while gaming)
Another issue that popped up at the same time, is that i now have to re-plug my mouse on boot every day.
the buttons work fine, i can right-click on my desktop and it'll bring up the context menu, but it wont move. replugging it fixes it, but it's still retarded.

I've reupdated all the drivers, flashed bios to latest version, and none of these helped.
I've also seen a similar issue elsewhere, mentioning turning off legacy support in the bios, and this also didn't affect anything.

this is getting to be really frustrating.

i DO have my device manager reporting 'USB-controller' being in a problem state, (though all ports work) and i seem to be unable to find usb2.0-specific drivers (which doesnt surprise me, but i'd hoped it might have fixed this)

edit: problem persists in usb3 ports.

Yip I have seen this with that top end keyboard a couple of times now. The USB controller is on the CPU by the way.
