Sabertooth Z77 usb 2.0 stops working

Hey everyone, my first post here (LOVE your OC guides sry for offtopic :))
having a weird problem with usb 2.0 ports (yes 2.0) picture attached 17377
i have mouse (g9x) and keyboard (g510) and dlink Wireless pluged in it
every now and then ( 2-3 times a week) they just stop working, and my mouse keyboard start blinking ( like they are getting power then not) and they are not operational, hard to describe the problem. its mostly happends when am playing (happend in wow, sc2, tf2 and borderlands 2 ), i did search for this topic but didnt find anyone with the same problem.
i have Sabertooth z77 bios 1708 , i5 3.2ghz, 2x 4gb gskill 1866 ,.. its all brand new ( 3 weeks old )

tried to reinstall both USB controllers, downloaded new drivers, removed in device manager they reinstall alone, and still i get the problem, windows are newly installed and up-to-date

the weird thing is that they work normally if i restart the computer, and they are random sometimes when i start playing around 20 mins and sometimes after 10hours ( had thermal armor on to see if voltage or temperature is the problem but it looks stable)

thanks in advance 🙂
p.s. little offtopic, sorry for my bad grammar, English ( am trying my best to describe the problem)

This may sound silly but try disable usb legacy support in bios worked for me when I was having usb problems ie: devices stopping working.

so u want me to disable legacy support?
Legacy mode support allows devices to function in an operating environment
that is not USB-aware. For example, legacy mode support for a USB keyboard
and mouse resides in the system BIOS and presents the keyboard and mouse
data via the port 60h/64h/IRQ1/IRQ12 interface.

so i never can enter bios again, or so ill have to buy a ps2 keyboard to play on? wtf man
that will fix it for sure! why didnt u tell me to shut down the usb2 in bios that will fix your problem !

and just to say to Asus my friend (the one i said ill borrow his psu) got MAXIMUS V FORMULA (same chipset as mine Z77) and it has the same problem (and its not psu he got XFX 1000W Pro Series 80 Plus Platinum)... so this is not an isolated issue, or the chipset is bugged or the drivers are bugged...

yes i did try (of my many years of experience i know to try everything sometimes it works no matter what " like Dee Dee from Dexter said : UUUUUUU, what does this button do?") but like i said the only thing that happen is that now i cant enter bios 😛 it stopped working faster then before ( well its random but usually it happens after 4-5 hours after i start the PC, now it happen like 5-10 mins after windows start and it never happened that fast but am sure it does nothing to do with legacy like i said its random). if nothing i made a reputation in my guild now i am "master puller" am probably the world first healer that pulls raids :p:o

Having the exact same problem, did this issue ever get resolved?

I fist had this problem happen on my Sabertooth z77 a few months back. It happen to occur alongside my SATA 6 ports failing. So I assumed it was all part of the south bridge going bad. However I just got my board back from RMA. Not three days up time an I have this problem again. It takes effect within 1-2 minutes after windows loads. Currently using my 3.0 ports is letting my continue to utilize my keyboard an mouse.

I use a Logitech G710+ and Razer Mamba. Both devices are affected earnestly. However my headset works well an so does a $15 keyboard mouse combo. Since my board came back it has been running bios 1204. I do not experience any issues if I let the system hang in the UEFI mode. Appears to be a driver conflict with the chipset. I have found no solution. Exceptionally irritating, wish I went with a Gigabyte board.

Have you guys swapped round your USB ports, and does the issue go away if you reboot?
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Hello,
even if I change the USB port, the problem continues to reoccur. Always randomly and at different times.
It seems as if the USB port is not powered for a few fractions of seconds (I feel just the sound that windows makes when a USB device is disconnected and then reconnected).
it is very annoying being without keyboard 😃
I also tried updating the bios, drivers usb suppliers, but nothing ... still having the problem.

I am having the same problem, except my USB 3.0 aren't working either and my mouse tracking starts acting up, I will be moving my mouse and then the pointer will stop moving and then if I keep moving my mouse the pointer jumps to where it should be, then if I start playing games after an hour or two my mouse and keyboard will just shut down and the lights on my keyboard will just start blinking, this has been happening for the past two months, I have tried swapping USB ports and they all do it even the 3.0, I have tried fresh installs of ALL of my drivers, I re-installed my OS multiple times, and I have sent my chipset in to be repaired STILL NOTHING does anybody know what to do!!!!!
