SABERTOOTH x99 BIOS 2001 - BOOM!

I've been working with PC's for many years...

So I upgraded my SABERTOOTH X99 from BIOS 1901 to 2001.

Two of my RAID10 drives dropped out of the array, the wrong two... no more volume...

My 4 x 8gb Corsair 3000mhz DDR4 XMP profile is no longer stable...

Watch it with this BIOS ladies and gents.

They said it would make my system more stable... like wild horses!

You've been warned.

So the plot thickens...

If I return to BIOS 1901 Windows boots to sign on, but afterwards has so much trouble loading my taskbar programs the audio starts stuttering and the PC resets. Guess I can't go back easily...

So I went back to BIOS 2001 and left my memory at 2133mhz which is stable.

My Corsair Vengeance 4 x 8gb DDR4 3000mhz isn't on the QVL... sigh...everything worked great on XMP prior 2001 BIOS. 3000mhz XMP is so unstable now that programs crash and the PC resets intermittently.

Stuck on 2001 @ 2133mhz.

Do I dare ask for a new BIOS to support Corsair 3000mhz 4 x 8gb Vengeance XMP?

I really don't feel like tweaking my system board. I don't OC other than XMP profiles.

I was way past the exchange with retailer 30 day period...

So I asked Corsair and they exchanged the DDR4-3000 Vengeance LPX for DDR4-2800 Dominator Platinum (which is on the motherboard's QVL).

Let's be clear, I got lucky, they were out of stock on the DDR4-2800 Vengeance LPX I asked for (which is also on the QVL) so Corsair offered the Dominator Platinum kit.

Kudos to Corsair for supporting the compatibility of their ram.

Everything is working fine on BIOS 2001 now.

Why 2 drives dropped out of the RAID10 array during the v1901 to v2001 upgrade is still of concern though, so be careful with this BIOS update.

I had exactly the opppostie story:
First i had Corsair LPX 3000 on my X99 board, nothing but trouble, only one XMP profile. crashes.
I returned it and got Kingston HyperX Savage 3000, with 2 XMP profiles (2666 and 3000), and it instantly clicked and worked. Then bios 2001 came out and I could clock stable even higher!

Overall I get better (easier) stability and better benchmarks with RAM at 2666 (14-14-14-36)

Cool, I am just happy Corsair took care of my issue. The Dominator Platinum DDR4-2800 has XMP 2800 (certified) or 3000 (extreme) and both work, but I leave it on 2800. It's nice to have the LEDs on the sticks and the cooling fans if I want put them in too.

Are you working with 4gb sticks or 8gb sticks? I have 4 x 8gb. That might be why we experienced different results with the Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000, and my 8gb sticks weren't on the QVL as I mentioned so BIOS 2001 took them out.
