Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 PCI Wireless Problem

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum so if this is in the wrong place I apologize in advance.

Here's my problem:

I have the Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and have had it wired to the router for a while now, but recently moved my desk etc and so need to make it wireless. I consulted e-bay and found a PCI card (not PCIe as my graphics blocks the slot) I thought would do the trick (my dad has one too).

Image and model - Here

It just refuses to boot. I get the BIOS selection screen, then a blinking cursor in the top left and nothing more. I thought possibly it was the card. So, I swapped it out with my dad's one which is working and it was the same. But mine worked in his machine !! He has an MSI 970A-G43 Motherboard if that makes any difference.

I know it's not my PCI slot as I have an old Netgear WG311v3 54G card which works but refuses to obey the 64bit driver signature rules of windoze 7. Plus it's only G so seriously outdated.

So my conclusion is a setting somewhere in the BIOS......I've looked EVERYWHERE 😞

Is there a legacy support setting somewhere?
Has anyone tried one of these cards and managed to get it working?

Your help would be much appreciated 🙂

My system specs are as follows:
