sabertooth 990fx 2.0 pci-e slot stopped working?

Hey guys.

Had a few problems today with my mother board not booting. After hours of messing about found it was a vga problem.
moved it to another pci-e slot and it works fine.

Had anyone had this before? If so what's the remedy for the broken slot if any?

Also in this fuss I bought a 780ti to see if it w
would work but still the problem. So now I have a 780ti and a 780. What's the performance upgrade by sli the cards?

Also what kind of power supply would I be looking at?

Thanks

Richard

Had this with a r9 290 and a BRAND NEW sabourtooth fx 2.0 board.

The only way i got it to work (at full spead was to put the gpu back in x16 slot(highest) and then change a setting in the bios for pcie.

If i remember .........change the settings to overclock manual and the pcie setting appears ( sorry can't fully remember as i gave up with this board and went back to crosshair) and changed it to 110 and my pc then booted up first time and every time. Hope this helps
