I know the CPU is old but I'd like to stretch it a bit more before upgrading. And I have the feeling it's not even performing as it should. For example, in Cinebench R20 I have seen typical scores around 2800 at stock, but I get only around 2500, 2666 if I overclock at 4.00 GHz. I know my RAM (16 GB HYPER-X Predator Black 3000 MHz) is not the best, but I'm wondering if I have something wrong in the BIOS, after some tests I just loaded Optimized Defaults and set the RAM back to 3000.
Are there any BIOS settings I should check to ensure the CPU is performing correctly?
