Hi there
Having some kind of issue with my mobo ram
i'm not sure if it's the RAM issue or the RAM slot
PC Specs :
i7 5930k OC'ed to 4.5@1.28v
Asus ROG Strix X99 Gaming (bios 1701 now)
ID-Cooling Frostflow 240L AIO
Intel 600P 256GB nVME SSD
Corsair RM650x PSU
2x1TB WD Green HDD
Ok here we go. i got this mobo less than a year ago and built them using 4x4GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX Fury 2400Mhz. all good until the next 5 months.
Suddenly one day, Windows & Bios just detected 12GB of RAM.i've reseated the RAM, cleanup the RAM contact, nada. still the same
Then i thought maybe the RAM spoilt or something.Asked a friend to try on their pc, to my surprise it works like a charm ! all 4 sticks detected
About a week ago,i bought Kingston HyperX Predator. Again 4x4GB DDR4 2800. Setup XMP profile, all good. works fine running quad channel 16GB 2800Mhz.
Nightmare starts today when i disassemble everything to put them in a new casing. Asus Q-Code went haywire with code d6,53,CC,bd
Once again, i reseated all the rams then only i managed to get into BIOS but now it only detected 12GB running at 2133. If i set XMP profile to 2800Mhz,the pc wont post.Error code bd. i really dont know what's happening here
i even pumped up RAM ChA,ChB voltage to 1.35,1.36. reset bios again. nothing (i even took the liberty to downgrade the bios to version 1504)
Any thought on this guys ?
