ROG Ramdisk not working (VI Hero)

Hi, I'm new forum ..and just with fresh rig on Hero
On Windows 8 Pro (don't want 8.1 for now) Rog Ramdisk (2.103) is not working for me - Clicking on Add I have error " Failed to create the Ramdisk drive. Please close all applications or restart .." On installing Ramdisk program also had one error (though it finished installation). Tried older version (2.003) - same results. Even installed AiSuite III (though not really thinking about using it as always preferred bios ) AI Suite III is working with no problems. But Ramdisk don't ... I don't know it could be conflict with some driver/software just some or just program acting finicky on Win8?
OC in the moment of Ramdisk tries was mild or even none.
Any suggestions highly appreciated ...

BTW I installed IRSS and some other drivers/soft from Asus Hero download page which I probably dont need (not using Raid etc) - is it better to uninstall IRSS?

Would you happen to be thinking of using the ramdisk for gaming? If so, might I suggest you check out Dimmdrive.com? It basically is a ramdrive built specifically for gamers, featuring integration with Steam, real-time game syncing, drag/drop setup, etc.

Thz TImDD will read about Dimmdrive ...but with 16GB Ram I was mainly thinking about using Ramdisk not for gaming but for temps (especially browsers and download) - for better performance and SSD cycles saving). Constant writes on my c:\ SSD drive (first ever 🙂 makes me bit confused and trying to find solution to avoid it
For example using Opera, JDownloader or IDM with Temp folders configured on HDDS - nevermind that all data amount first writing to SSD (according to HD Tune and other programs monitoring SSD writes). First was thinking that its Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 writing to scan downloading files but it seems not (blocked it and same thing) It looks like download programs are making additional temp somewhere on c: (not in their configurable locations ...and not directly in \Users folder which some subfolders I also moved to HDD and Symlinked). BTW What monitoring program could show me details like folders in which writing occurs - Hd Tune is showing me only which program is writing on which drive.

Installed ramdisk, didnt find a use for it, later changed my mind yet again, install failed

resolved by:
power shell (admin), cd into the install directory (program files x86\asus\rogramdisk)
execute the cmd file with the inf

.\install.cmd .\asramdisk.inf

The install now works, it seems the cmd is somehow being run without admin rights?
Where it just worked the first install (windows 8, in windows 8.1 it doesn't)

Hope this info helps

thanks so much...it fixed my issue.
