ROG Armor and cpu backplate touching motherboard tray

I just recently bought a Maximus VI Formula board using a I7 4770k cpu and Noctua NH-D14 air cooler in a Fractal Design Define R4 case. The problem I am seeing is after I installed the cooler and booted it all up to make sure it works, I then installed it inside my case using the motherboard standoffs in the correct locations. Upon looking at the back, I see the cpu bracket and ROG armor hitting the motherboard tray. I would just like to know If that will be ok for it. I have not installed anything else just in case I have to remove it all again. I just don't want to put it all together and have it short out or have cooling issues only to completely disassemble the entire system after doing all my cable management. Any info / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi bikex500, Welcome to the ROG Community. I see the cause for concern. The cpu back plate and armor touching the motherboard tray shouldn't be an issue. After all there is no electricity flowing through the bracket to cause a short and there should be some kind of insulation in between the bracket and motherboard when you installed it. The armor is basically a protector for your motherboard and is not made of metal. I don't see any problems with it. If you are uncomfortable about it, you could always get some longer stand offs.

if he get longer stand offs the io shield will not fit whit the motherboard when putting things inside the case. same whit graphic cards.

To the OP: You should have no issues even if the motherboard tray is touching the Armor or CPU backplate. Ordinarily you'd never want the back of a MB to be touching a motherboard tray as it could cause a short. However, in this case, the Armor has been designed not to short anything on the back of the board, - so there's nothing to worry about.
