Hey
I have a HTPC with a Asus P8H67-M Pro and a Samsung 830 64GB SSD.
Booting into windows here is ridiculously fast. We are talking 3 seconds on the windows logo and half a second on the Welcome screen.
But on my desktop.. thats another case. Using Asus Rampage IV Extreme and a Samsung 830 256GB SSD (which is better in terms of IOPS than the 64GB) the windows logo is utterly crap slow. We are talking 6-7 seconds looking at the windows logo. Then the monitors turns off and then on again 2 seconds later and then I look at the welcome screen for 2 seconds and I'm in.
Now, this is with both FULLY formatted clean install of Windows 7 on both. Latest BIOS and I've turned off anything I don't use in the bios to reduce POST time such as ASMedia Storage and the likes.
What is going on? I have read on other forums about other people expierence slow windows boots with the RIVE.
People claim it being GPU initialization during Windows Boot logo?
