RIVE EZ_PLUG_1 question

The EZ_PLUGZ_1 connector on the Rampage lV board is for quad video card additional Power. Would it help / hurt / make no difference to supply additional power thru this connector for just a Dual SLI GTX680 Classified setup?

The cards will not get enough power. I strongly recommend its use.

Must of RIVE's toys are for hard overclock (hard probably means LN2)
I've overcklocked two 7970 cards without this plug connected, can't say that it's necessary.
But it wouldn't harm for sure so if you can do it without problems - plug it.

Basically, EZ_PLUG_1 or EZ_PLUG_2 do not cause any harm
so..Do not worry

What kind of cables can we connect to EZ_Plug_1? Does it have to be the same specifics as with the 6 pin cable that connects to my graphics cards? Can we safely use and convert the power for SATA for EZ Plug usage? Thanks.

I have a GTX690 (max 300w) and the plug is not connected but it works fine.

The plug is a must for 3+ cards. You should not need it for 2 but it certainly can't hurt to connect it as it offers better power distribution. On 4 card setups you WILL have issues if you don't connect it though (assuming high end cards).

6-pin PCIe cables is what you should connect to it yeah!
