RIVE and 3930k on the way.

Hi all. I just purchased the mobo and cpu mentioned, and I would like to know what to expect, re=cpu temps etc. with an overclock of about 4.4ghz. My biggest concern is noise. I have the Antec 920 liquid cooler, presently set to "silent" And it IS silent. Will I enjoy similar results with my new upgrades? Right now,I have the Maximus Formula, with a 3770k,overclocked to 4.4ghz.,and the temps never go over 65c. It remains very quiet even while heavy gaming. Did I make a mistake by upgrading? Should I have stayed with my existing set up? Please tell me I won't have to worry about heat, and noise. Thanks to all responding.

Well I have the RIVE and 3930K (new build). I use a Corsair H110 in a push/pull with Cougar 140mm fans. Overall my system is pretty quiet. Currently I have it overclocked at 4.3 ghz and temps at idle range from 29-35c. at load they in an intense game, maybe the cpu gets into the mid to up 50's.

I am using the Corsair 900D with plenty of airflow.

Quiet and a real pleasure. I used the Antec 620 for a while and even that was good to go at 4.4GHz

Thanks for your response. My upgrades arrived this morning, and consists of the RIVE,the 3930K,and 4x4 gigs of G SKILL Tident X ram. I will report my findings after I get everything installed, overclocked etc. Looks like my best move,is to stay with my Antec 920. Thanks again.

Please, do report back! I'm curious how that Trident X kit will perform on the RIVE...

Just a thought if I may have... run memtest86+ (see the guide in HiVizMan's signature) before you would start installing the OS... - it can save you a lot of head-scratching...

i will answer you in pictures, my pc doesnt have any fans working inside the case except the very nice and inaudible psu fan
this is the best way to let noise "outside"
make your conclusions

Riv4+3930k is a fantastic combo 🙂

window closed=noise outside 🙂

That's some cooling system you have! My case is the Thermaltake Level 10 Gaming Station. All areas are modular. I could never get that kind of cooling set up in a case like mine. The Antec 920,is about all the liquid cooling I have room for.
