RIVBE: Is GTX 780Ti in PCIe 8x slot an issue?

Hi,

Just got all my parts together with the awsome RIVBE motherboard and my cooler is slightly interfering into the upper most PCIe 16x slot for my only GTX 780Ti.
Main question: Is there an issue or a downside when i put it into the lower PCIe 8x slot?

Thx

Why don't you put it into the lower x16 slot ....slot 4;)

Aesthetics 😄 and another card on its way, so Im guessing one of them will have to be in the 8x slot

What cooler do you have? And what case?
i7-3930K; Asus RIVE; G.SKILL Ripjaws Z 4x4GB DDR3 1866; MSI 7870 2GD5/OC; Crucial M4 SSD 256GB;
Corsair 1000HX; Corsair H100, 4x Excalibur 120mm PWM CPU Fan p-p, AS5; SB X-Fi Titanium Fata1ity Pro;
Dell U2412m IPS 1920x1200; Cooler Master HAF 932 case; Tripp-Lite OMNIVS1500 UPS fully Line-interactive.
(EVGA site: ) And I have a second (wife's) computer, Eve.

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

:confused: you will run a card in slot 4 though right?...if you try in slot 2 and 6 they will both run at x8

Which cooler is interfering with first...strange....most of them are close but don't actually interfere..running in the recommended slots is....well, recommended.

But PCIe 3.0x8 is the same as PCIe 2.0 x16...so...
