RIVBE Blackscreens and BSODs cannot install OS

Hi,

Currently im on my 3rd RIVBE motherboard as the other 2 died within a week, now ive been playing on this board for a week maybe 2 weeks ...
Running Battlefield 4 all ultra settings etc without problems ... now all of the sudden the computer couldnt handle showing a simple movie ....
so i rebooted... after that the trouble started ... computer would show a blackscreen when i booted to windows and the cpu led wouldnt show any activity.... after like 30 seconds the cpu led lights up and the computer restarts completely ... the other time te computer will show the windows login but when i try to do something it will BSOD right away... (or BSODS after 10 sec when i do nothing)

Oke i tought maybe its a bad windows install so i decided to do a clean install .... guess what ... when i boot from the windows CD it will show the black screen as well and get stuck there untill i manually reboot the system... other times it will show me the windows install screen and it will BSOD ...

WTF happened here ?! it was working fine before and all of the sudden its crap again

Specs:

MOBO: Asus Rampage IV Black Edition
CPU: Intel Core i7 4930K
RAM: G-Skill RipjawsZ 2133mhz 32GB (8x4GB)
GRAPH: 3x Asus Geforce GTX 780
PSU: Corsair AX1200
COOLING: Corsair H100i
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro
HDD: 3x 2TB Drives and 1x 1TB Drive

I've ran Memtest86 for hours and it passed without errors (only weird thing was that it showed that i only had 1 core and that the timings of the ram were different from what i configured in the Bios, upon reading some stuff on the internet i guess this is just a glitch or somebody here has to think otherwise ?)

ram timings in bios: 9-11-10-28 2133MHz
ram timings showed in Memtest86: 19-15-15-31 1550MHz (DDR3-3100)

i've removed 2 graphic cards and try to boot with that and also removed 4 dimms ... no luck either same thing keeps happening

is this board dead again ? was really hoping that 3rd time would be a charm

Hey StrikeZero...

have you had any feedback on the other boards. I mean you may be the victim of very bad luck but that seems more than coincidence. Do you have another PSU to try. I mean it seems like something might be damaging boards?

Have you been OCing? have you cleared CMOS and started at defaults?

Yes i cleared CMOS and started at defaults .... PSU is brand new ... (RMA'ed the previous one)

Im getting into windows install sometimes and then it cannot detect any drives .... and some com error ... weird stuff...

edit: i just saw theres a new bios released ... gonna install that ... hopefully that will fix the issues

New bios didnt fix things either ... same thing bsods with everything on stock ...

Have you tried swapping out SATA cables? can you install to another SSD or HDD to see if that changes anything?

I would suggest seeing if you can get another PSU to test with. I wonder if your PSU is causing these issues. 3 boards failing is very very unlikely. Some common denominator is causing this to happen.

But if the board has been damaged allready then a swapped out PSU will not bring it back to life of course only prevent any additional boards from being damaged. Oh and I have been there by the way, four different benching boards I killed before I twigged it was PSU, took a good CPU and 2 VGA's with it too.

well the issues was that the processor was dead lol ... got a new one and i could install right away 😄

still having issues with windows desktop and delays ingame ... made a screenshot of it :



hmmz could this be a dying GPU ?
getting fps drops ingame and it seems like people always have like 1sec advantage onto me ....

CPU as the common denominator I can accept but what caused the CPU do die on you?
