Weird day here.....my rig has been BSODing every 5 to 10 minutes all day......loads of codes a bit of everything from 09C to 101 the whole range...

My question is, to those of you who have had CPUs die...do they die slowly and like this?

I have replaced RAM replaced PSU fresh installed on two different SSDs swapped out GPUs disconnected everything but mouse and keyboard......flashed BIOS changed BIOS chip.

So I am left with RIVE or CPU. RIVE is a couple of months old.....

Any other posibilities?

Nooooo, not Arne's CPU. You said it has been very hot ambient? Were you watching your CPU core temps?

Well since you asked, strong radio (RFI) interference could cause that, the kind that could occur if you were next to a radio transmission tower, or near a microwave relay tower pointed directly at you. FYI.

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

Another thing, I have heard of this sort of behavior when a CPU cooler fails.

LOL HalloweenWeed! I'll be right sad if it is the CPU we've been through a lot together...

I have been watching temps and in fact with the heat I haven't really pushed it as far as I wanted to in the benching comps but it has been well OCd quite a bit for well over a year...it passes IPDT but then will crash a few minutes later with a different code every time....

Of course it is at stock now and running one stick of RAM but still getting x101 BSODs 7E BSODs...the list of BSOD codes is endless.

I can't see any flicker in the lights....but my only other idea is that there are fluctuations in the power grid that I cant see.....

No radar radio or cell phone towers in the immediate vicinity.....

Try blowing off your entire RIVE inverted, using canned air, in all nooks and crannys, maybe you had a tiny broken wire strand fall onto it somewhere.

Arne it sounds like you should do a complete reinstall of your hardware. Take all apart and start again.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I've had to deal with 3 cpu's dying over the past few years. Luckily not mine. They were all quick deaths. One minute working good the next not working at all. But that's just my experience with them. I would agree with ripping your machine apart and giving it a good cleaning. Doesn't seem to take much dust to heat things up. Especially with high ambient temps.

Hi Arne,
your news .. has had the immediate effect of bringing down my ovlclk 200 Mhz .... and never any stress tests this summer!
Giving advice to you, is like trying to explain to Alonso as you drive your Ferrari!
Apart from my old cpu destroyed by lightning, I have one experience Cpu inexplicably dead ... but gave no time even to load the SysOp.
Just two questions ... you were doing a stress test or has begun to give BSOD for no reason? And the temperature was normal or high ... and now between a BSOD and the other as is?
Certainly not exclude a problem of RIVE but exclude degradation problems .... I hope you solve in the best way!

greetings
