Good afternoon,

I would like to know if a BIOS update will be released for the z370 / z380 motherboards with RESIZE BAR option?

Thanks
greetings

Motherboard support for less than two years is ridiculous , the most interesting thing is that they did not forget to raise prices for their products‚ thank you for taking care of your clients

Wow. Can't believe the forum rep modified his post to imply 300 series chipsets aren't getting it after all.

FeelsBadMan. Asus NEVER AGAIN

Whilst I don't doubt that ASUS had zero intention of backporting this update to the 300 series that response probably just means their support staff just aren't being kept in the loop.

Chances are that they didn't expect every single competitor to do this, despite it being a relatively minor update handing free performance to their customers, and as such didn't want to expend any resources developing something that might otherwise give users a reason to upgrade. I'm guessing the calculus on that might change a tad when they are the only manufacturer that didn't bother.

If they really do stick to their guns and treat boards that formed their primary line-up less than a year ago as end of life then I guess they'll lose a reasonable chunk of the enthusiast market over it. It's not a great look to say the least.

Couldn't have said it better myself. A huge shame they have to be coerced into following suit by being the last instead of taking the initiate like the others have. "It isn't an issue until it is a PR issue".
The Greedy ones at the top will always be worse for the consumer, as usual.

I also joined the forum to say that I am in the same boat as everyone else.

I have an Intel 9900K processor (not much incentive to upgrade right now), ASUS PRIME Z370-P motherboard, and an ASUS TUF RTX 3080. The only thing that I am lacking to enable resizable bar is an update for the motherboard bios.

I am just going to throw this out as a suggestion, but it might be worthwhile to fire off some emails to some of the popular tech news sites. Point out to them that the other manufacturers supported their 300 series boards, but ASUS did not and their customers are upset over it (and point them back to this thread).

Companies tend to respond pretty quick to bad press coverage (and it has the potential to change their mind on certain decisions).

Phew, I just noticed that he edited his post after you pointed it out. Now it is getting ridiculous without an official statement if ASUS is going to update the 3xx series motherboards or not.

This missing reply will make me decide if I will upgrade my current rig with products of other manufacturers and sell my ASUS hardware.

I cannot take this customer support anymore. I wonder how long it will take until they quietly remove this thread (I would not be surprised anymore..).

This is everything but premium.

I don't get why ASUS wouldn't be one of the first on board with this. Really disappointing that my z390 board may not get rebar, especially since I was able to nab a 3090FE.

It is useless to try to get them to do something in their own forums. People are contacting Asus to see if they will do something about this, it's like calling your robber to politely ask him to give back the phone he just stole from you. That's not how it works.

People have to raise awareness in places where it will be seen and where Asus has no control. If the same group of people that are angry over here created topics that are this big and this meaningful in places like LTT or Gamer's Nexus forums, we might create just enough noise to get one of those main media outlets to just notice the fact. Now that's something that would force Asus to give a reply, and even if they decided to give an official "sorry, those products are no longer supported in our lineup", it would just make them look really, really bad.

I happen to own not one, but two Asus Z370 boards (ROG Strix Z370-I & Z370-H). I also own a entry-level Gigabyte Z370M D3H board. My Asus boards (currently) power a RTX 3080 and a RTX 3060 Ti, my Gigabyte runs a RTX 2080 Ti. So I'm not geting ReBAR exactly in the motherboards where I need it. How lucky am I? I am going to "fix" one of the builds by switching the RTX 2080 Ti with the RTX 3060 Ti in the Gigabyte motherboard, but that's no easy task since my 2080 Ti runs a closed-loop that won't fit my Mini-ITX build. In other words, I'm going to have to switch the whole build to a new case to just to get ReBAR to work. Thanks, Asus!

My 3080 will have to remain with no ReBAR until I get myself a motherboard from a better manufacturer. Changing a motherboard is a PITA, because I have to find one (currently, Z370/Z390 board are either overpriced, or lacking features that important to me, like high quality audio), then I have to sell my old motherboard, not to mention things like Windows activation that is actually tied to your motherboard.

So yeah, Asus is already going to give me a huge headache just because they decided the boards I bought from them aren't good enough, now I'm having to run circles managing my rigs and replacing motherboards (when I didn't expect to have to to that for at least another 2 years). So if anyone's up to spread the word out there in other forums and youtube channels and what not, I'm all in.

Someone should really email someone like GamersNexus to cover this thread and the lack of communication from Asus.

That's definitely more likely to have some effect, because Asus sure as hell won't do a thing. Maybe once word gets spread in a channel with millions of viewers, they will do something. I still won't buy Asus products in the future, but at least I know I'm doing my part in fighting this type of behavior.

Because if Asus can get away with this, other manufacturers might start to do the same in the future. "Hey, remember that BIOS update we gave our users a few years back? Asus didn't do it, and they're doing just fine. So why do we need to support our old customers when Asus isn't doing it?". Just running away for other brands won't solve the issue if Asus doesn't learn the lesson. What's worse, they might start following Asus's example, and then we all lose.
