Razer Megalodon will not work om Maximus vi Hero MB - Help?

Hi,

I just finished a new build on a Maximus vi Hero MB en started of with installing WIN 8.1.
Everything worked fine except my razer Megalodon ( error: windows does not recognize usb).

So thought of it as a driver problem and installed Windows 7 but the MB did not start up from usb anymore so i finally installed from CD (arrghhh :-)).

Problem with the Megalodon still exists: Windows will not recognize the headset (and its is a plug&play headset...)
I've updated the bios and drivers from the Asus site to have the latest versions. and tried to install another headset which worked so it seems to be linked to the Megalodon.

Note the Megalodon works perfectly with other desktop and notebook so its not a broken headset .

Anybody has any advice for me?

i have had the same problems the solution i used is to use a usb from my keyboard g19 and then update bios and now i can use whatever usb slot and its working sorry for posting 2 times something went wrong

Hi All, sorry for my late reply.

My latest actions:
- tried all usb ports also after updating to the latest bios version (1203)
- tried the usb port on my razer black widow ultimate too
- reset the MB (power off, disconnect supply and empty remaining power by pushing the powerbutton) i got a very short succesfull install for about 2 seconds but that was it and it went back in not recognized mode 😞
- reinstalled win 7 driver packs
- updated firmware on the megalodon via another notebook to be safe.

So far i can't report a successful installation 😞

If you know more i can try, i'll be checking tonight (i'm on CET time)

Thanks for any help you can provide

I'm having this problem as well.

Hello

Try setting xHCI to disabled in the USB section of the UEFI. These issues are mostly the result of the component not being compatible with Z87 and newer PCHs.

Hi Praz,

Thanks for reaching out.

I've tried your solution but doesn't work either :-(...

If you have more to try, let me know ok?

Hello

Sorry I don't. I suggest contacting both the mouse manufacturer and your local ASUS support regarding this.
