Intel CPUs are only guaranteed to run memory at DDR3 1600, and the Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) is in the CPU, not the mobo. You have to get lucky to run RAM at 2400. This means you can't use XMP either, unless you try the other XMP profile (if you have that). Otherwise you need to set your DRAM V, mem speed, and latencies manually; trying 2000 first (or whatever is close). If that works, then you can try a higher speed, and you
may need to increase the voltage by 0.05V too. FYI.
Run memtest86+ v4.20 boot disk overnight must pass one full battery of tests, no errors allowed - no red except "Memtest86 ver." on the screen. Don't use Windows ver Memtest, it can't test all the memory.
Memtest86+ GUIDEYou can use either CD-R boot CD, or make a bootable USB key, both are available for download on
www.memtest.orgUnfortunately, if you installed Windows without the Memtest, and Memtest shows errors the way it is currently set up, your Windows install may be corrupt. You may not find out for weeks if it is. If you have troubles, you don't want the possibility of a corrupt Windows install complicating the troubleshooting. You may have to reinstall Windows from scratch to be sure - don't save your settings or anything, wipe your SSD clean before installing. Also, if you have a second drive disconnect it before installing Windows or Windows will install a hidden partition on it, and you won't be able to boot without both hard drives. FYI.
