Hi Folks,

I am facing an issue with a 3930K C2 and a Rampage IV Formula, and according to CPU-Z, the VT-d is not available.

Do you know if VT-d is disabled while OC ?

Is it a know issue do you have a work around solution ?

At the moment I can't tell you which version of the bios is installed on this computer but I can update the post in around 12 hours.

Thanks for your support !

My apologies for my poor english skill, I am not a native english speaker 😕

If you go into BIOS and set defaults F5 and then save and exit F10.....or clear CMOS...is VT-d enabled in BIOS or do you still have no VT-d?

Exact, you googled it for nothing 😕 sorry for that.

I currently have the version 4208.

When the version 4403 was issued, I tested it but this first IVE-B bios version was not able to handle my RAM @ its frequence therefore I came back to 4208.

Thanks.

Have you tried later versions than 4403? I've got one of the earlier 3930K CPUs that doesn't support VT-d, so I can't tell you if I'm having the same issue. But perhaps someone else with a C2 3930K will be able to see if they have the same issue with that version of 4208.

What issues were you having with your RAM? Perhaps there's a solution for that. You should probably also tell us what RAM you have.

Hi,

I flashed my bios with the latest version by with this version my memory in not supported and I only have a black screen as soon as i try to load the XMP profile.

Therefore I reloaded my good old 4208 which seems to no handle the VT-d.

I have to choose it's either VT-d working properly either memory working properly...it seriously suxx...

Let me sumarize :

-I currently have my 3930 on a RIV Formula and 32 gb of Geil Crosa Evo certified for 2400 mhz. Everything is working properly with XMP profile for the ram, excepted the VT-d which is not available.

- flashed my MB with the latest bios version, but with any version newer than 4208 I can't use my RAM @ 2400 mhz with the XMP profile. i was hoping to get access to VT-d with a new bios but if I can't use my ram it makes no sense.

I got me ? Not sure I am clear enough in my explanation... 😕

Symptoms were the following:

-I flashed my bios from 4208 to the utmost latest version. Then the PC reboot with default parameters. I entrered the bios, modified my memory settngs in order to load the XMP profile. Then I saved the modification and restarted the PC. At this moment the only thing I have is a black screen with error message AF on the MB. Then I am forced to reset the bios. At this stage I haven't even tried to restore the OC I had on the good old 4208.

-Voltage for ma RAM is 1.65. @ 2400 Mhz, and everything is included in the XMP profile.
-The fastest I can get my ram running with the newst bios is 1800 Mhz. I should have a look at the VCCSA.

Thnaks for your help.
