Rampage iv extreme wont power on

I plugged everything in and the board lights up, however when i hit the power button it comes on for a split second and shuts off. Can anyone help??

Was there anything special you did before this happened.

Without knowing anything I would say try and clear cmos first.

Please sure you have the 4 pin 12v or 8 pin 12v power connected to the board. Boot the system wth start button see if everything is ok.

Just check the connections for the 24 pin and 8 pin ATX power cables are good I.e. Inspect contacts at board and PSU and see they seated properly. Make sure CPU and RAM are seated properly (RAM in correct slots) and that the CPU fan headers are connected. And check motherboard is on standoffs and not contacting case anywhere. Is PSU known good one?

If this is your first install I would suggest your double check that ALL your power connectors are seated in the correct power connectors. What you are describing does sound like the 12v CPU connectors (a 8 pin and a 4 pin) next to the CPU socket are not connected correctly.
