Rampage IV Extreme Upgrade to Rampage IV Black Edition... Done!

I just did the board swap from my ol faithful RIVE to a nice shiny new Black Edition.

Everything went flawlessly! 4960X @ 4.6Ghz using the same setting as the old board.

All my devices worked and I didnt need to install anything to get going back into Windows 8.1 64bit Pro.

There's 2 "Other Devices" in device manager I need to load drivers for, but other than that, even the 4way SLI VGA Hotwire on the OC panel worked out of the box.

Out with the old!

All I need to do now is mount the OC Panel and get an external esata or USB3 bluray case cause I don't have any bays free!

Koolance block not compatible. The VRM might fit but I dont think it needs it. PCH sits at 50-53c no matter what I throw at it. VRMs are warm to touch.

I LOVE THIS SUPREMEFX onboard sound! Great Job ASUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So smooth, so controlled, so pitch black silent when its supposed to be (no hiss!)
Enjoying Diana Krall 96Khz 24bit The Look of Love on Sennheiser HD600 direct out of the board. These headphones are a challenge for many headphone outputs because of their high 300ohms impedance. No onboard sound card has ever been able to drive them.
Wow im in love!

Where are you jacking into the board? The green miniplug socket? Or are you taking the optical out? I have a usb dac so i'll be interested in comparing it too.

Plugged straight in to the green stereo jack on the back.
