Rampage IV Extreme mouse and keyboard randomly disconnecting

Jpump

So, when I'm playing a game, my mouse and keyboard will randomly lose connection for a second, sometimes 5 seconds or longer, and will repeat this process randomly. It could happen 5 time back to back, or just once and it'll be fine until it randomly happens again. Mouse and keyboard are plugged into the USB ports next to the PS2 port. I've tried different USB ports, and it still happens. The mouse is less than a month old and the keyboard I've been using for almost a year without any problems. Also, my wireless USB adapter doesn't randomly disconnect when the mouse and keyboard do. I really don't want to RMA this board because of a USB issue.

Unsure if you're talking to me anymore since other people can't make their own thread and clutter mine, but automatic driver update has been disabled as soon as I formatted and installed Windows.

Updated Realtek drivers to the newest version and played WoW for 45 minutes without it acting up. Saw this suggestion on the Logitech forums. I'll update again in a few hours if it's still working properly.

Played Mechwarrior Online for 2 hours and neither disconnected randomly.

Tried WoW again, started doing it. So, I guess it's narrowed down to a WoW issue. I played LoL last night and didn't notice it then either.

Win8 , had this pc running for 6 or so months, and both the mouse and keyboard are completely dropping out like mad. I have to restart there's no waiting for it to come back. haven't updated bios recently, Logitech g9x, and a dell keyboard, theres not really any options for drivers.

Still have this problem. I have no idea what is causing it. It's extremely annoying and is ruining my gaming.

yea so far, I have stopped using my g9x, all usb at the I/O panal . using a razor mouse from the internal headers to the front panal for my connection. I wish I had an idea whats causing it, mine started dropping within 30 or so minutes prior to the mouse/usb change.

Tried my old Razer Taipan, same problem. I was about to try a new keyboard, so I unplugged my normal one and noticed the mouse was still disconnecting by itself. The only option I have left is to RMA the board, since it seems like it's something with the USB ports.

Just literally had this problem for 5+ straight minutes before I got sick of it and alt-f4'd the game. Already submitted my RMA. Sick and tired of getting broken motherboards with USB issues.

After waiting nearly 3 weeks for this speedy(laughable) RMA process, I got a new board, and guess what? It's a Rampage III for an x58. Thanks Asus, thanks. Apparently III and IV look too similar to tell apart. I know I often make that mistake. Good thing I didn't take my computer apart to prepare for the new board.
