Processor Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler

Thermal Paste ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND

I setup my RAM with XMP profile 1,

My ram should be 2400Mghz and CPU 4G.

When I checked on core temp or CPUID CPU Z. I don't get that at all.

When I check BIOS, he saved the config I said.

I m not sure whats going on.

Can anyone light me on this please.

Hi samikaz 🙂

CPUz reports half of the value...DDR is double data rate....double the 1200 shown in CPUz and you have 2400 😄

thanks for taking to read it.

What about the CPU then. It shows 3000 in CPUID, 1000 in Core temp and 4000 in BIOS. what should I believe?

I did some separate test with CPU at 4.9 with the OC water cooling profile in the BIOS. Working fine however I can't set up the XMP profile at the same time...

I should do it manually to have both with the setup I want. I started to read some topic how to OC but it's heavy and not very user friendly. Any recommendation ?

thanks again.

When you are looking at MHz in CPUz are you running the CPU at 100% with a stress test? If not those different values are simply speedstep changing the CPU clocks to suit the load on the CPU...as it should...

EDIT:

Hmm actually samikaz....i have just noticed the COUz screenshot...and you are running 1.56volts!....this is very high and way too high for a H60...please go into BIOS and load F5 defaults or clear CMOS as soon as you can....it looks to me like the VRM is overheating and throttling you in that shot!

CPU fixed...

I ll have to setup the ram manually then...

I ll have to change the H60 to a h80 or more? if I want to overclock the CPU? or maybe it was just a bad auto settings...

Hi samikaz...that shot only tells me what voltage the CPU is running at 1200MHz a typical idle frequency....you have to run something that makes the CPU ramp up to turbo frequency and then check temps and voltage. Prime 95 for example.

If XMP set that voltage then yes, be very careful! Is that one quad channel kit...of 8 sticks or two quad channel kits...4 sticks each?

yes the XMP set it up like that. I just pressed F5 and reset to default.

I configured only the RAM for now. I ll have to read and by a real water cooling if want to overclock as this H60 seems to be not enough.

I m checking on aquatuning for that bit.

" Is that one quad channel kit...of 8 sticks or two quad channel kits...4 sticks each? " I didn't understand this sentence. Can you be more precise please.

Thanks for helping.

Well if the XMP profile of the RAM set 1.5+v for vcore then I would simply return the RAM and make a complaint to the manufacturer.

I was wondering about the exact kit number...the part number for the RAM....is it one single quad channel kit or is it two kits of the same make and model...two dual channel kits...you put "quad" up above so I am presuming it is one kit but wanted to make sure...(the 8 sticks was my mistake...I see you have 4 sticks right?)

1 kit of 4 ram of 8 Go.

The profile an only push it to 4000 and I wanna do it to 4900. I ll check to get a proper water cooling system and at the same time check how to overclock the CPU.

Thanks for your help.

It looks it's then a bad profile.

Yes you will need different cooling to push for 4.9 GHz . Not all these CPUs get that high with out a lot of volts and then you need a lot of cooling.

Have fun OCing and let us know how you go! 😄
