Rampage IV Extreme Graphics Problem

I'm having a problem with my motherboard and hoping you guys could help me out. A couple days ago my monitor stopped displaying picture. I checked the monitor with a different computer and it's still working. I have put my graphics card in a different computer and it's also working. I have also put a working graphics card (6870) into the Rampage IV Extreme and still no display. I have tried to first and second PCI slots and no display either. Is there any other than the motherboard it could be?

Did the signal to the monitor stop when you were on the puter or didn't it work after a bootup one time? Are you getting a error code. I would try clearing the cmos. If that doesn't work, get a support ticket started with Asus right away. With removing the cable to the PCI-E power supply a few times I'm pretty sure you'd have made a good connection. Are you confident your PSU is supplying power to the card?
Also double check the PCI-E Lane switch is on. Kinda weird that it would just stop working suddenly though. Maybe somebody else has ideas.

When you tried to boot what code is the Hex display showing?? This will help us ascertain the nature of the problem. Have you tried resetting bios and booting with only one stick of RAM, furthest socket from CPU with only graphics, keyboard and mouse attached to the system.

You could also try switching to the secondary bios and having a go at booting using the same procedure.

With one card you should use either slot 1 or the third red from cpu down the board.

Please check the PSU connections to your graphic card. If possible swap out your PSU just to make sure it is not the cause.

The signal to the monitor went away after I put it to sleep and came back home. The motherboard debug LED is show A2. The PCI-E lane switch is on.

The debug code is A2. I cleared the cmos, and used the bios switch. Tried with only one stick of ram also. Tried the GPU in the third PCI slot and still nothing.

I can try to see if I can find someone who has an extra PSU, but the fans on the card do get power and start spinning.

You might also want to try and borrow a CPU.

I hate to say it but it just could be your CPU has moved on to the great big silicone in the sky.

Any way to check? I just bought it two months ago.

Swap out the CPU to a different know working motherboard, or put a known working CPU in your board.

Thing is it could be either one. The fact the graphic card works in other systems removes the VGA as the problem. The board powers on and you have LED post codes so the board is at least semi-functioning. What I would check is the 12v CPU PSU connector. Pay attention to any nicks or cuts to the cable, or if any of the metal pins in the male socket have shifted.

Kinda a slim hope, but try starting the machine from the onboard power-on switch. Let us know how the cpu thing goes.

Checked the PSU cables and all looked in great condition. Starting with the on board power button didn't work either. If I can't find another 2011 motherboard or CPU to test with which should I RMA first?
