rampage iv black edition shut down when starting windows

Hi im wandering if anyone can help me

I have recently fitted a rampage iv black edition mobo

My cpu is 3930k with 32gb hyper x ram and 2 780ti's

I have insulated the mobo as I run a water chiller therefore dielectric grease is in the socket

The computer initially started perfectly and had no issues

But now it won't get into windows. It posts then goes to load windows and when it has it immediately shuts down.
I have tried putting my old gpu in and still get the same issue. As soon as the pc starts to download driver's it immediately shuts down

The details of the error are:

The info of the repair details say: A recent driver instalation or upgrade may be preventing the system from starting

Repair action: system files integrity check and repair
Result: failed. Error code = 0x490

I have tried system restore but still no luck.
It will load into safe mode with no issues.

I think its a driver error as thats what the Windows error log show when it attempted startup repair.

Its driving me mad

Any help is much appreciated

Hey alyraver!

Hmm not good...I presume you have cleared CMOS and are running stock defaults?

If you can get to safe mode reinstall chipset driver and MEI and uninstall everything else you can like display sound etc.

Yer ive tried that and still no luck.

Am gonna do a fresh uefi install of windows and see if it works. Its a right pain in the back lol.

Yeah probably best then...sounds like something is borked in the OS...

Though one thing you could try...before...increase current capability in digi+ section to 170%...just in case it's this weird shutdown business some of these boards seem to have....and current inrush inertia to enabled...

Did a fresh install anyway to clean everything up

thing is I have had similar behaviour and got advice from Raja...

Seems sometimes some 3930Ks and some 4930Ks need a bit more current cap to be stable...default auto is 140% on this board so setting 100 or 120 like on the RIVWE can undo you....

But...

I wonder have you got latest BIOS and if so how you updated to it...EZflash?

Yer im running the latest bios.
All seems to be running great now 🙂

Currently re installing all drivers and its going good

Will post up some pics later on. Got some quick release fittings on now too 🙂
