Rampage iii extreme slot pcie problem

Hello!

I have got a Rampage iii extreme with a GTX 480.

Im using the 3rd pcie slot.
The the graphic card is too big and i need to use the 2nd PCIe. I read that the all pci are 16x.
I did move it up but it would not display.

I turned on only the PCIe #2 which has the graphic card, all others (#1,3,4) are in off position.

i tested the 2nd pcie with a gt520 and the display looks fine.

I add and image that u can see why need to change the card slot.

Turn them all on and test each one if you can. It may be that you have a dead PCie lane?

That is good news.

Now lets explore what could have caused this. Please check your PSU cables that you used to power the VGA.

i think only slot 3 is pcie 16. The others are x8

Right thank you and can you confirm that you have checked your PSU cables yet?

Please do a clear CMOS and reset your motherboard to the factory defaults. Then try the PCIe lanes again.
