would be really nice to see a R4E mobo in all black some day maybe.

I really like the onboard wi-fi & removed X79 fan. But I think I'll pass on this mobo. I'm going to wait for the Haswell-E CPU & updated 2011 socket with the X99 chipset. I hope Asus uses this mobo as a template for that socket.

Well if asus is taking votes I vote for a RIVE Beige Edition.
Black's all very well, but when your crawling around under your desk inside the guts of a black case with a black motherboard with black cards ports memory and cables, trying find which one of those black things is loose, you start to hanker after the good old days of beige.
At least in those days shining a light in made some difference.
various boxes of expensive junk some of which still work

Well if only this was released before I decided to buy the Extreme or the Formula board cause I would simply bought this one instead but the question is.. is it backward compatible with the Sandy Bridge -E Processors.

But even if it was, I don't know if its a worthy an update move for me to go with this board from the Rampage IV Formula Board.

If you're asking that question, then it definitely isn't worth updating. Especially if your current needs are already satisfied. There also won't be any noticeable increase in performance.

Might want to wait until Haswell-E, and do a complete upgrade then.
