Rampage 4E power supply question

Hi all
Ive got a coolermaster 800w silent pro gold, with 3 hardwired cables. The 24 pin is obvious, but there's also a cable split into 2x4 pin plugs labelled in the manual as cpu and another 8 pin labelled as pcie.
The 8 pin socket at the top of the MB has half blanked off, so do I just plug the 2x4 pin plugs into the two 4 pin sockets or remove the blanking plate and use one of the 4 pin plugs and the 8 pin plug? The manual is pretty unclear on this point.
I dont actually need the 8 pin for anything, its redundant if not used here.
Any help appreciated, I haven't built a pc for a few years 🙂

Hello and welcome

The CPU 2x4 connector use for the 8pin CPU plug - plug the entire 2x4 connector into the 8pin female socket.

The PCIe 6+2 is for your graphic card as and when needed.

Cheers

Quick reply 🙂
So I just leave the 4 pin socket next to the 8 pin empty?
I'm using the 2 plug in cables for the gfx card, they look neater.

That is correct. Your PSU does not support an additional 12v connector.

There are certain occasions where that 12v socket needs to be populated but I do not think you will be needing it just yet.

Excellent, thanks a lot.
Hopefully I wont need to come here much as long as the build goes smoothly, but its nice to know there's good quick help here if needed 🙂

Cheers
