Rampage 3 Black Edition check fucntionality

Hey guys , i just got my rampage 3 black edition by mail , is there anyway i can check it works fine without having anything plugged in except for the psu? The reason for that is that the rest of parts will arrive in a moth or so , so the "dead on arrival" warranty thing will expire by then.
