Ram selection and speeds

Hi all!:)

My first post here and of course its a question lol :s
Anw I'm kind of confused with the ram timings and selection i bought..

This is going to be my build(i said "its going" cause I'm waiting the ram sticks from amazon to arrive)

My PC components:
MB: Asus Crosshair Formula V-Z
GFX: Asus HD5850 1GB
CPU: Phenom II x4 970 (3.5MHz)
SSD: OCZ Agility 3 120GB
Ram: Evo Veloce 4GB x2 2400MHz
OS: Win7 64bit Ultimate

My questions are...
Are these ram gonna work at least at 1800 with these specs for PC? (my ram are gonna be compatible too ??:s)
And if i want to make them work at 2400MHz what do i have to change?

Thanks for any kind of a response:)

Welcome to the forum Stamos, don't think your PII's IMC is capable of running ram @2400mhz, maybe 1800 at a push, sorry.

Tbh i knew that with P"II there should be a problem.
So my solution would be to go for a FX??

Well i have zero experience in OCing so i wont be able to reach a good speed :s

Thanks again!

Well, there is always a good time to learn OC'ing... 🙂

But, sincerely, you won't observe any difference in everyday use between 1600MHz and 2400MHz... in some benchmarks yes, but otherwise is no reason to stress your system so much...
