I had similar memory but 2 x 4GB and it worked fine for me just fine.

What CPU are you pairing it with? you shouldn't have much trouble, but, if you can. Get a 2x8GB kit instead.

Yes that ram will work. It is what I have. I am running it just over 2400mhz due to my overclock. I need 1.35 volts on cpu/nb with llc set to high to run it though.

I think you would be happier with 2X8 vs 4X4 sticks.
Speedbird 9590@5.1/CHVFZ/8gb G Skill@2133/ASUS R9-280X all on EK blocks controlled with Aquaero 6 Pro

Goonybird 8350@4.6/GA990FXAUD3/16gb Corsair@1600/Crossfired Sapphire 7990's cooled with CM 240L XSPC res

Although I don't have any problems with the 4x4 sticks, I do agree with with madcratebuilder, you would be happier with the 2x8 sticks. It's easier to overclock with.

i do use the trident-x 2x 8gb 2400mhz (set at 2400mhz on stock timings) and no problems.
