Raid0 low speed with 2 x Kingston ssd now V series 64GB

My newly installed Kingston ssd now V series 64GB ssd's in Raid0 do preform slower than my 2 x 2TB seagate barracuda hdd in raid0 , max read speed is around 100mb/s

Sata i set for raid. on all ports(legacy raid option bios 1003), during boot both disk set was set up, (Ctrl-f) Stripe block 128 kb, cache mode write thru, driver is AMD version 3.3.1540.22 and win 7 64 installed on the ssd array.

AMD Raid expert reports nothing wrong, and write cache is enabled, and so is NCQ.

If anyone have good suggestions they are very welcome

Also note someone found the correct orientation of the ports on this board (Manual is incorrect? - if you connect by the Manual you are connected to Port 1 and Port 3)

Correct Port#s

1---2---5

Connect the Raid array's disks to ports 1&2 (or 1,2,3 and than 4 - depending on number of disks).

I was aware of the wrong sata port layout in the manual, so I had already connected the ssd's correct.

The bios update helped a little now I have a max read of nearly 130mb/s but thats not even close to what should be possible

I did see that little picture frame, and tried it too, but its not possible for me to upload any photos, might be because I am in Beijing China 😞 and need a VPN, I will try again tomorrow after i get my VPN up and running.

I cant upload any photos / screenshot here, it comes up with Error # 2038 😞

Anyway the bios supplied by p4spooky did not really change anything regarding speed I get between 115 -130 MB/s with ATTO, it change from time to time.

AS ssd say Seq reports: 103.93 and write 47.8MB/s

Crystal Disk Mark Seq reports: read 100.1 write 46.99MB/s

All the readings are significantly slower than the 2 x 2TB seagate barracuda Raid0 I have as storage, that array reads 247MB/s in ATTO

Any help is highly appreciated

Hi Laowei, what type of drivers you used (ati Raid) rev. and did u set to raid or ahci mode in Bios

Driver is driver is AMD version 3.3.1540.22 and Raid is set in Bios on port 1 2 3 4 5 6 🙂

Two Raid 0 is set up the ssd dont preform the hdd do ok

did you tried the SSD raid alone ? is the SSD raid OS ? have you checked any Firmware updates for the SSD´s ?

No I did not try the ssd alone, and yes the ssd is with the OS, and there is no firmware updates available at Kingstons home page 😞 KINGSTON SV200S364G

I will try the ssd alone and see how it preform

No difference with ssd array alone
