R4F Asmedia SATA and PCIe problems

I can not seem to detect any drives connected to the SATA ports for ASMedia. I have installed the driver supplied and in windows device manager the ASMedia driver installed comes up as an IDE controller and not a sata controller under storage. I think I need some help.

Also, I can not detect my Revo x2 drive. It is plugged into the bottom red PCIe slot. I can not even get the bios to show when booting. It will be a data drive not a boot drive.

I have installed the latest BIOS 1308.

What other Items do you have installed in the PCI ex slots mate??? Have you tried another slot for the Revo and also made sure that specific slot has not been switched off using the onboard dip switches near the power / reset buttons.

Finally make sure the ASMEDIA is set to AHCI controller in Bios. It sounds like yours is set to IDE mode.

if you are running two other PCIe items you might just have a problem.

I suggest you head over to the OCZ forum and have a quick read about the problem over there. I have seen a couple of similar issues mate.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I have had the Asmedia turned on in bios to achi the whole time. Bios for it does not come up in post.
I have a 6990 running as well I think the switches for the pci slots are on as the graphics work. (all switches to the left)

May I suggest you reset your BIOS to default. Then if you do have anything connected to the ASMEDIA ports they will be detected.

F5 enter
F10 enter

Hmm 6690 dual card maybe the revo is not being picked up because of that. What happens when you swap the 6690 down one slot and put the revvo drive into the top slot?

I have load bios defaults many times in bios and no dice on the Asmedia working. Not sure what f5 or f10 does but I can not force the Asmedia rom to show on boot.

I tried the configuration for video and revo and it does not like that.

I would like revo to work slot six as I am planning on tri fire and plugging 6970 into slot 4.

Do you think I need to plug 4 pin molex into board to get slot 6 to work properly? I am also testing slot 6 with sound card as soon as windows gets installed again.

An update. Rebodrives work in slot 2 and 4 of the pcie on this board. The revodrive powers up but does not work on the 6th slot on this mb. While plugged in the revodrive receives power but it's bios does not post.

Okay revo post but how to I get it to appear in windows?

Revo drive up. Asmedia drive down.

I have tried to load defaults but the drive is not detected. I have tried 3tb, 2tb and 500gb drives that work on the intel sata ports.
It must be a board fault as window detects the software as a sata controller but device manager has the controller in IDE controllers. It does not come up in device manager as a storage controller where all my other drive controllers are.
I can not get the Asmedia rom to show on boot.
