R4F Asmedia SATA and PCIe problems

I can not seem to detect any drives connected to the SATA ports for ASMedia. I have installed the driver supplied and in windows device manager the ASMedia driver installed comes up as an IDE controller and not a sata controller under storage. I think I need some help.

Also, I can not detect my Revo x2 drive. It is plugged into the bottom red PCIe slot. I can not even get the bios to show when booting. It will be a data drive not a boot drive.

I have installed the latest BIOS 1308.

If your ASmedia ports are not working RMA the board.

Easy way to check. F5 (sets the board to defaults automatically) enter then F10 (saves that BIOS settings and reboots)

Power down

Remove all other storage devices from your system that includes things in your PCIe lanes

Place one hard drive into the ASMedia port.

Power up.

If nothing RMA

I powered up the mb pci buses with 4 pin molex... No dice on Asmedia or slot 6 working with revo. Revo still receives power but dies not post.
I have noticed that when I cleared bios and installed win 7 that when I installed drivers that the date was 1/1/2005. Reinstalling Asmedia drivers did not fix error.
I have tri fired (6990 and 6970) now and have a desire to use it. I will try a sound card in slot 6 and see what happens.

Anyone else having this problem with slot 6.

Well Asmedia ports do not work at all... I tried the test you suggested.
I also tested my xonar STX in slot 6 and no dice.
I hope to send back to retailer. Worse case I Rma best case I get a new board straight away.

Please keep us in the loop as to the progress of your RMA.

Sorry this happened bud, but electronics is like that. I saw how the one courier handled my parcels the other day and it left me cold. No wonder electronics gets damaged - this muppet just tossed the bubble wrapped packets into the back of the van. I kid you not. No amount of bubble wrap is going to protect against that kind of impact or shock.
