R4E Onboard Audio Question

I am looking to replace my current headset. I would like to get a Razer Tiamat 7.1. I was watching the razer's instructional video how to hook up the headset to the computer, and the tech went through all the jacks that were required to have 7.1(green, orange, black, grey and pink for mic). I looked on my R4E box and it says I have 7.1 onboard capabilities, but I look on the back on the I/O panel and I am missing one of the jacks that the tech listed, the grey one. My question is two fold, can I use the Tiamat and still have 7.1 without that jack? The second part is if I cannot have 7.1, how can the put on the box that it is 7.1 capable?

This has been addressed in another thread already.

The answer is that Razer decided to use non-standard colors on their headset.

Yes, it will work fine with the RIVE.

I apologize if this has been answered already. The search that I made yielded no results. So then which port do I use? The light blue one? I though that was reserved for audio inputs?

The manual indicates which ports you should use.

It can function as both an input/output depending on your configuration.

Hello

Searching worked for me.

Looking at my manual (R4BE) the light blue connector on the back of our boards are for 'side speakers'. There is a diagram on page 2-17 at the bottom. Not sure why the colour codes aren't matched up.

R4BE Lime = Front Stereo = Razer Green
R4BE Light blue = Side Stereo = Razer Grey
R4BE Black = Rear Stereo = Razer Black
R4BE Orange = Center Channel + Subwoofer = Razer Yellow

And of course pink is Microphone on both.

There are all your 7.1 channels.

Hope that helps.
