Hi,
I'm reinstalling my OS from scratch and I have been using RAID for years with the IRST driver package and obviously RAID settings within the BIOS.
This time, I want to remove the RAID0 and RAID1 arrays and just use single drives. My Boot and Data single drives will be connected to the Intel X79 SATA controller and I have two backup drives connected to the ASMedia controller (which I intend on leaving there).
I know how to reset the BIOS to non-RAID, but do I need to have any drivers handy on a thumb drive while Windows is installing (like you do for a RAID install) and do I have to install any driver package for the single hard drive setup (with the RAID0 I had the IRST drivers on a thumb drive for install of Windows and then I installed the IRST package within Windows once it was up and running so that I could monitor the RAID arrays I was using for booting and backups).
Should I just rely on whatever drivers Windows 7 uses or download a specific package for this mobo from Asus , or elsewhere?
Thank you!
Bill
