R4E – Card clearance in last PCIE slot?

This is a question for those running x4 CF or SLI on a R4E motherboard.

Does the bottom card interfere with the USB 2.0, 3.0 and System Panel Connector at the bottom of the motherboard? I'm looking at the motherboard now and I don't see how it's possible to install a 4th card and not block these ports.

Thanks.

It does mess with them yes. You can work round it of course but it is a pain.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I personally made a suggestion and hope it was passed along that all the bottom plugs be put at a 90 degree angle or have the next one be extended by an inch and a 1/2. The idea is that with the next generation being default pci-e 3.0 and more bandwidth by default more will be inclined to run 4 cards in a rig. When i put my replacement board in after rma'ing last one for dead memory slots and never put my 4th card back in just for that reason. I decided that once i water cool in the my soon to be finished "Red Storm" build early next year ill put the 4th card back in now having the room via the water block.

I have three GTX 680 under water now and I don't think that I could fit a fourth on the R4E even with a waterblock. Hopefully someone who has installed four watercooled cards on a R4E can chime in to let us know what they did. I tried to find 90 degree adapters online for the USB ports and the System Panel Connector but could not find any.

they dont exist and honestly shocked given this mobo being built for quad sli that this is even a topic of discussion , i just hope the R5E doesnt bring these issues into play, live and learn.
