R4E 1X PCI Slot

I'm just finishing up my new build and moving from my R3E to the R4E. For some reasone ASUS has decided to move the
PCI 1X slot conmpared to where it was for the R3E. This presents a problem as I will not be able to use the 1X slot since it will be covered by my second GTX580 with an Accelero Cooler installed. My only option will be to use the other Gray 8X Slot (pos. #3).

Will installing a Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium HD Soundcard into slot #3 drag the video cards installed into slots #1 and #4 down to 8x?

I don't see any other options for installing my soundcard at this point.

no, when using grey slot, just dont use the second red slot and you dont loose any lanes. use the pcie simulator in bios for clearer pic

OK thanks for that. Not sure what you mean though by 'pcie simulator in bios for clearer pic'. I haven't got the machine up and running yet so I haven't been in the BIOS as of yet.
