R4BE Possibly Overheating?

Does the small heatsink above the cpu socket generally run hot? I just purchased this board so I'm still running stock speeds (sandy bridge six-core). I can't leave a finger on the heatsink for long before it starts to get painful lol. I'm starting to wonder if there is enough thermal compound or contact between the heatsink and the power delivery.

Have you cleared CMOS and set f5 defaults? It should not be hot. It can get warm if no direct airflow and can get hot if you are OCing with no directed airflow.

Heat comes from current at the end of the day sounds like something is not set right...
