R4 Extreme Raid0 Sata 6gbs not stable, RST driver is not good

Hi to all.
I just read many things about this problem on many site but i want inform you of ASUS community...maybe you can help me. 🙂
I have an ASUS X79 RAMPAGE 4 EXTREME Fw 11.01 with 2 OCZ VERTEX 2 with FW 1.35 and WIN 7 64bit and on this motherboard there is a big problem to made a stable raid 0 on Sata 6Gbs port ( INTEL chipset)

So...I create the raid, i set the raid inside bios, i load Win 7 , start install ecc... ecc..& bla bla bla, every function, but when restart sometimes give me at a reboot a black windows and tell me that may some hardware not function at this moment.

If i install only in one SSD everythings is ok, but in raid....so bad.
Now after many travel on the network i understand there isn' t any stable driver like RST driver, rste driver...i try all, i ask you if you know this problem and what you think to do for solve.
Try asus driver in the CD, the lastest version download from site, Rst 3.0.0.3020 driver from intel and RSTe 3.0.0.3020 ( enterprise ) but without any good result.

My SSD is in perfect condition, is only a not compatiblity with the SSD raid to X79 chipset, may need to made a custom driver from Asus to solve this issue.
OR....someone of you know some solution at this problem ?

Thanks to all and sorry for my bad english.

Hi, I also built a Raid 0 on R4E recently, and suffered similar instability issue. In the beginning, I thougt it's SSD's issue with Raid0 setting because the system looked okay with single AHCI SSD but failed at Raid 0. However, after day and night's cross test, finally, it turned out to be my memory setting to cause the instability. I would suggest you to try to tweak your Memory setting in UEFI BIOS first. Try to use X.M.P. setting with Mode 1 as discussed in many threads here. At least, my R4E with Raid 0 (2 Agility 3 SSD 120G) is very very stable now, LINX, IBT, Hyper PI, etc... all burn in pass without any issue (overclocked to 4GHz). Now, I am going to try 4.5GHz, good luck to me.....

I don't make any overclock...for now 🙂 .....RAM runs at 1600 Mhz, under default, but i try your suggestion and put XMP profile.

In the begining, I didn't overclocked, all BIOS setting were adopted with default setting, including memeory with 1600MHz.
However my Memory module should be 2133MHz one and everything became normal after I set X.M.P. and mode 1.... FYI.

Ah you have replied while I was typing.

OK your ram kit could you list the part number for me please.

mm... 2133MHz... try X.M.P. and Mode 1, I believe everything will become stable as it should be... 🙂

Hi my friends, ......I SOLVED !!! 🙂 ...like an Odissey.

So...i explain to you for other unlucky warriors.

When i install Win 7 64 bit, the Winzoz console ask me the Rst driver and ..ok, i use an older but full of glory usb floppy and load this driver...for the chronicles...RSTe 3020 driver F6 diskette.

After when Winzoz finish the installation i go on my desktop and start to load various driver, first of all Chipset X79 in bundle with the R4.
After when restart arrive the weak message of something is not good on the hardware, aske me if i want repair o continue to load normally.
I choose to continue normally and load Windows.

OK....BEFORE i ignore and continue to install other many drivers and when restart is impossible to load again windows.
THIS TIME an idea shoot me....may be during chipset installation some file rewrite something of bad on RSTe driver and i do this...i installed first RSTe driver for Windows ( .exe , not F6 version ) and .......after i made many many many restart without any problem. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I try to change XMP profile but the PC is stable, is not an XMP profile problem, is only a drivers problem, the mobo is perfect.
Now this bad event is solved and start a new story populed by many and many MHZ...

Thanks friends for you help, i discovered this forum only two days ago, like to much and i think to be more present on this board not only for "bit" problem, but for discuss and learn more about the ROG world.

PS: Inside bios i find section "Tweaker's Paradise" ...............LOL ...only LOL.

Your English is good my friend, much better than my Italian.

Lets find out some information first shall we.

Could you list all your hardware and what settings you are using. So if your CPU is over clocked could you list the settings. The same goes for your ram.

Here is something you could do in the mean while.

In BIOS F5 and enter, then change the SATA to RAID, F10 and enter

Now all your system is at default with the exception of the RAID for SATA of course.

If you are using two different kits of ram (even if the same brand and model) remove one please.

See if your system is not stable in RAID. 🙂
