Question about the extra PCI-E molex power connector on RIVE

Currently I do not have the molex PCI-E power connector hooked up. I've been running GTX690 overclocked without issues. (before upgraded to the 690, I had two heavily OC'ed 480s but no issues as well) I have seen someone having issues with 670 SLI on a Asrock X79 board because of the molex connector not being used. Do I need to connect it just to be safe?

No the connector only needs to be used for 4 way SLI, Also if i remember it helps when using 8 sticks of ram.

Although LiveOrDie is right (basically that's what is written in the manual), I would connect ALL the power cables... the system would not draw more juice, but what draws would be more equilibrated...

Wow, its an extra PCI-E 6-pin connector, not a molex LOL.

Totally Agree with Zak17 connect everything and supply the same amount of power but in a more stable manner. Yes as noted its not a molex connector this one. Its a PCI Ex 6 Pin.

Easy Plug 1 (PCI-E conntector) supports extra power to the PCI-E slots. Easy Plug 2 (floppy power connector) supplies the extra power to the RAM. Plug them all in if possible for best power plane distribution. It cannot hurt. However, this is not mandatory with less than 3 GPUs (Easy Plug 1) or only 4 DIMMs populated (Easy Plug 2).

Thanks for the replies guys! I think I'm just gonna leave it alone for now since it's not really mandatory and I'm not really pushing anything to the limit with the overclocks I have.
