Question about AMDA00 interface driver.

Hello,

I ve recently build a rig with Maximus VI extreme , i7 4770k , 16GB 1866MHZ corsair dominator platinum ram, GTX 680 sLI, Samsung 840 as system drive , Samsung 830 for games and progs and ST1000DM003 HDD for data. The question is about AMDA00 interface driver. I ve made a clean install of windows 8.1 64bit , i installed all drivers and when i try to install amda00 from windows update , it says "installing" for some time than comes up with error. When i tried to isntall AMDA00 driver from asus support site (the one released in Jan 2014) it just says "copied metadata to ...... OK!" and nothing happens. Is there any point of isntalling this device if not using AISuite or OCPanel ? I ve read there were a lot of issues with this driver yet the newest version from asus cant install . Still got Unknown device in windows... Anyone could clear my mind of what to do with this device ?

Have you tried installing it through device manager, and not through .exe file?

And no, it is not necessary to install it if you don't use AI Suite

I jsut tried this now , when i point windows to asus driver it tells me "This driver may not be compatible with the hardware etc etc" than it just "Installing driver software" and nothing else happens... I guess ill put OC Panel back to the box and just go by without aisuite...
